Lara works with BSR members on their sustainability management, human rights, and equity, inclusion, and justice initiatives. Lara supports members improving their social and environmental performance through sustainability strategies, materiality assessments, and sustainable reporting, among other projects. 

Lara comes to BSR from the international development space, with five years of experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, communications, and project management. Most recently, she supported gender and development research and policy advocacy at the Center for Global Development in Washington, DC. Furthermore, Lara has an extensive background in business, development, and mission-driven partnerships in Africa, creating and leading the Partnerships team at Baobab Consulting, an Africa-focused social impact consulting firm, and founding her own digital communications consulting company for Africa-focused businesses and organizations. Lara is a Spring 2022 Sustainable Investing Fellow at 17 Asset Management, an impact asset management and advisory firm focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Lara holds a MSc Development Studies (Specialism in Applied Development Economics) from the London School of Economics and a BA in Sociology and International Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.

Dunstan leads BSR’s work at the intersection of technology and human rights.

Previously, Dunstan led BSR’s information and communications technology, heavy manufacturing, and human rights teams.

He brings significant experience working on a diverse range of engagements and issues, including human rights due diligence, privacy and freedom of expression, sustainability reporting and strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Dunstan facilitated the multistakeholder process of developing global principles on freedom of expression and privacy, which led to the launch of the Global Network Initiative in October 2008. He also helped create the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition, a collaborative initiative of more than 100 ICT companies improving conditions in their supply chains. Dunstan participated in the process of creating the Global Reporting Initiative G3 guidelines, and he is a regular commentator on issues of corporate accountability, reporting, and human rights. He also co-authored the 2010 book Big Business, Big Responsibilities.

Prior to joining BSR in 2004, Dunstan was part of British Telecommunications' corporate responsibility team.

Dunstan has an M.Prof. in Sustainable Development from Forum for the Future.

Lindsey works at the intersection of technology and human rights, helping both tech and non-tech companies identify and address human rights impacts associated with the development and use of technology and effectively incorporate business and human rights practices. Her focus areas include content governance, end-use risks of tech products and services, and the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.

Prior to joining BSR, Lindsey worked with digital rights organization Access Now to drive the conversation on the human rights implications of AI. As part of this, she wrote the foundational report Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Lindsey previously worked at Internews, implementing a large portfolio of internet freedom projects across Latin America, which focused on equipping journalists and human rights defenders with digital security skills and defending the free and open internet. Lindsey has worked and lived across Latin America and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Lindsey holds a Master’s in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Faraz works with BSR member companies across industries in human rights and technology.

Prior to BSR, Faraz was an Advocacy Fellow at Access Now, where he contributed to digital rights campaigns. Previously, he worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Human Rights Initiative, where he researched business, human rights, and technology.

Faraz holds an MA from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Law and Economic Policy. Prior to SAIS, he graduated from the Ohio State University, where he served as a John Glenn Fellow at the US Department of Justice and as a Critical Language Fellow at the US Department of State.

Batoul works with BSR member companies across industries in human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Batoul was a project officer at Thinkers & Doers, a French think tank, where she conducted interviews, collected data, and created visuals for reports. She also coordinated the think tank’s flagship conferences. Before this role, Batoul worked at the United Nations for the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and at Groupe SOS, where she was organized a high-level conference on social and inclusive economy.

Batoul holds a Bachelor of Private Law and a Master’s in Business Law from Université Paris II - Panthéon Assas and a Master’s in Comparative Law from Université Paris - Descartes. She also went on an academic exchange program at the University of Buenos Aires, where she studied international law and women’s rights.

Batoul is fluent in French and English and is proficient in Spanish and Arabic.

Alison supports companies in embedding respect for human rights across their organizations and value chain. She brings a strong, collaborative spirit and expertise in developing and implementing strategies and governance, due diligence, and engagement mechanisms to effectively manage human rights risks. 

Alison joined BSR from BT Group plc, a BSR member company, where she led the development of a new human rights strategy geared at ensuring a responsible approach to how the organization buys, sells, develops, and uses technology. Highlights included setting up a new steering group, engaging key internal stakeholders through innovative workshops, and integrating human rights risks in BT’s group risk management framework. Before that, Alison trained and practiced as a corporate lawyer at the global law firm Hogan Lovells, specializing in international arbitration and business and human rights disputes. Her experience included advising a European energy company and its executives against a potential criminal prosecution for complicit liability in war crimes committed by a state military.

Alison holds a LLM in Public International Law and a BSc in International Relations and History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Alison is fluent in English and French.

Jiajia works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, including supply chain sustainability and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Jiajia was part of the international labor standards team at The Walt Disney Company. She worked with leaders across the company and external partners to ensure compliance with labor standards requirements, with the aim of improving factory working conditions as part of a responsible supply chain. Her experience spans policy implementation, stakeholder engagement and remediation through social compliance audits. She was involved in projects focusing on forced labor indicators, recruitment fee repayment and fair employment practices. She was also a representative in its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategy taskforce. Jiajia started her career in a boutique sustainability reporting consulting firm, and also has corporate work experience in financial crimes compliance at MUFG Bank.

Jiajia holds a BBA (Hons.) in Accountancy and Management & Human Capital from the National University of Singapore. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Ouida leads BSR’s Energy and Extractives practice. She applies her experience in international development to her work at BSR, where she advises global corporations across industries, but particularly extractives companies, on human rights; sustainable communities; inclusive economy; diversity, equity and inclusion; and women’s empowerment.

She also previously supported BSR's HERproject.

Prior to joining BSR, Ouida worked with the United Nations Development Programme in Belize, where she developed and contributed to projects on water governance, gender equality, and disability rights. She also has worked at Community Partners International, a nonprofit dedicated to the well-being of the people of Myanmar. Ouida helped build New Global Citizens, an organization dedicated to engaging U.S. youth in global philanthropy and activism. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, she worked closely with youth, women, and grassroots organizations. She is fluent in Spanish.

As a Rotary World Peace Fellow, Ouida obtained an M.A. in International Relations from the Universidad del Salvador. She also holds a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College.

Hannah works with multinational companies to align business and human rights strategies and facilitate incorporation of sustainable practices into business operations across sectors.

She focuses on the intersection of human rights and new, disruptive technology and leads the Tech Against Trafficking collaborative initiative.

Prior to joining BSR, Hannah worked with the Skoll Foundation, where she co-led the portfolio and investments team’s efforts to identify social entrepreneurs with the potential to drive large-scale social change. Her work led to over US$20 million in grants and investments between 2015 and 2018. Before Skoll, Hannah spent six years working in anti-human trafficking in West Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Bay Area. She is fluent in French.

Hannah holds a Master’s in NGOs and Development from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Political Science and French from the University of Michigan. She currently serves on the advisory boards of Oxfam’s Women in Small Enterprise initiative and Convening17.

Carolina works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, human rights, and supply chain sustainability. 

Prior to BSR, Carolina worked in the research and policy space for organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union, International Organization for Migration, and the Solidarity Center. Past research project themes include supply chain traceability of cotton from India, the future of just transition for unionized workers, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of the Accord agreement on garment workers in Bangladesh, and the need for financial inclusion and assistance for artisanal and small-scale miners in Colombia. Carolina’s interest in this work stems from her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea, West Africa, where she focused on community economic development issues. 

She earned a MPP from the University of Michigan and a BS in Public Relations from the University of Florida. Carolina is a native English and Spanish speaker.

Kelly supports BSR’s work across various industries with a particular focus on human rights, women’s empowerment, and sustainability management.

Prior to joining BSR, Kelly worked as a consultant on various human rights projects, including issues of modern slavery and labor rights in global supply chains. Clients included Rights CoLab, UNFPA Supplies Partnership, and the Resilience Fund for Women in Global Value Chains. Kelly has worked extensively on women’s rights, including two years supporting a women’s economic empowerment program in Surkhet, Nepal, and a number of years working with the United Nations Foundation on international sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Kelly holds an MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University.

Hannah works at the intersection of technology and human rights, helping both tech and non-tech companies identify and address human rights impacts associated with the development and use of technology and effectively incorporate human rights best practices.

Prior to joining BSR, Hannah worked at the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) as a technology strategy associate. At HRF, she facilitated conversations between HRF’s community of activists and tech companies in an effort to minimize the adverse impacts of certain technologies on vulnerable populations, as well as connected activists with technical tools to safeguard their work. Before HRF, Hannah was a research assistant at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.

Hannah holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Arabic from UC Berkeley.

Claudio leads BSR’s portfolio on addressing modern slavery, human trafficking, and forced labor. He develops guidance for companies seeking to prevent and mitigate human trafficking and forced labor risks and advances policies to scale impact through BSR’s collaborative initiatives like Tech Against Trafficking, the Global Business Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and Building Responsibly.

He brings 15 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary programs on criminal justice, human rights, and security in multilateral settings. Prior to joining BSR, he worked at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), establishing and leading the Secretariat of the UN Inter-Agency Coordination Group Against Trafficking in Persons (ICAT). As a senior advisor to the Special Representative for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), he oversaw country needs assessments in North America, Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

Claudio holds a MA in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria and an Executive Certificate from Harvard JFK School of Government in building and leading diverse organizations. He speaks English, French, and Italian.

Emma Giloth is a social impact and brand strategist working at the intersection of human rights and consumer sectors at BSR. Her expertise lies in food, beverage, and agriculture; consumer marketing; and ethical supply chains.

Prior to BSR, Emma worked in the consumer packaged goods industry, where she led marketing and innovation for a food company that specialized in ethical sourcing of climate-smart ingredients. A social entrepreneur at heart, she co-founded a sustainable natural products brand in Senegal as well as an Africa-focused intercultural communication consultancy. She is dedicated to strengthening employment opportunities for youth and is a business advisor to several African brands. Before working in the private sector, Emma managed programs on human rights, early childhood development, and youth empowerment in West Africa and the Caribbean.

Emma holds a BA in International Relations and Economics from American University and a MBA specialized in Social Enterprise and Sustainability Management from Colorado State University. She speaks French and Wolof.

Kayla collaborates with BSR member companies on projects centering on the corporate responsibility to respect human rights, focusing on companies within the consumer sectors industry cluster. Her areas of expertise include energy transition, anti-corruption, and gender.

Prior to joining BSR, Kayla spent several years advising multinational companies and investors on human rights as an Adviser at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, during which she also served as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on Business and Human Rights (BHR), international human rights, anti-corruption, and EU law. Previously, she worked on global anti-corruption investigations and cross-border white collar litigations as an Associate Attorney at the international law firm King & Spalding LLP, where she was the founding member of the firm's BHR initiative.

Kayla holds a JD and a Certificate in Global Human Rights from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, which included course work at the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement, and a BA, Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from Tulane University.

Rachel supports multiple teams at BSR with their regular administrative duties and identifying cross-functional team collaboration opportunities. She focuses on supporting business transformation;  financial services; human rights; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and technology.

Prior to joining BSR, Rachel worked for International Justice Mission as an Office Coordinator, filtering external stakeholder inquiries and facilitating internal team collaboration for maximum impact. Rachel spent time in India implementing ethical storytelling and marketing practices for small anti-trafficking organizations.

Rachel has a BBA in Marketing Management with a minor in Political Science from Texas Christian University.

J.Y. works with technology companies to incorporate effective human rights practices.

Before joining BSR, J.Y. worked as an international human rights lawyer at NGOs. He was previously a Legal Officer at the Centre for Law and Democracy, an international human rights NGO promoting freedom of expression and the right to information globally. Before that, he was a Staff Lawyer at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, Canada’s national human rights organization, where he was a recipient of the Law Foundation of Ontario’s Public Interest Articling Fellowship. He also acted as an international trade negotiator for the government of Singapore and was part of the negotiating team that closed the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.

J.Y. holds a BA in Law from the University of Oxford, Somerville College and a LLM (International Law) from the School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.

Salah leads BSR’s human rights practice within the Consumer Sectors industry cluster, which includes the following sub-clusters: Food, Beverage, and Agriculture; Commodities Trading; Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality; Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals; and Luxury, Apparel, and Beauty. He supports companies in implementing human rights due diligence programs and human rights strategy and governance development, as well as aligning with regulatory, investor, and other stakeholder expectations around human rights management. Additionally, Salah leads the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality and is a regular contributor to the Human Rights Working Group.

Prior to joining BSR, Salah worked at a major media conglomerate where he ensured compliance with labor law requirements within the company’s manufacturing supply chain. He also worked with a standard-setting organization that developed the first auditable program for labor standards enforcement in manufacturing. Additionally, he practiced as an attorney in New York City, focusing on civil rights issues.

Salah holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish, and Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Michigan. He speaks Arabic, English, and Spanish.  

Ayesha works with BSR member companies at the intersection of technology and human rights, helping align company actions and strategies with international human rights standards.

Prior to joining BSR, Ayesha worked on digital rights issues with the Yale-Wikimedia Initiative on Intermediaries and Information, a research initiative that aims to raise awareness of threats to an open internet. Ayesha previously worked at the United Nations Global Compact headquarters, where she managed a range of projects advancing business adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) worldwide. Ayesha began her career in India, where she practiced commercial law before transitioning to a career in international development and human rights. She currently serves as a member of the American Bar Association’s International Human Rights Committee.

Ayesha holds a LLM in International Law from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a law degree from the National University of Juridical Sciences in India. She is fluent in English and Hindi and is conversational in Urdu.

Natsumi works with BSR member companies across industries with a focus on human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Natsumi worked for a Japanese NGO and specialized in research and public education as a video producer, making educational videos for children covering global issues like human rights, climate, social justice, and sustainability. Natsumi then worked as an editor at a news agency in Malaysia, focusing on business and corporate news.

Natsumi holds a MA in Human Rights from the University of Vienna and a BA in Political Management from Keio University.

Jenna brings 15 years of experience working in human rights, sustainability, and stakeholder relations at global companies to her work with BSR member companies. She manages BSR’s Just Transition Collaborative Initiative, focusing on the energy sector’s transition to net zero.

Prior to joining BSR, Jenna held a senior role at Suncor Energy, advising the company on integrating sustainability into business processes, ensuring projects managed social and environmental impacts and risks, and leading their human rights efforts. Previously, she worked at Repsol, where she developed and implemented their global community relations, Indigenous Peoples and human rights approach, and management system. She held multiple ESG roles at Talisman Energy, where she led the global ethics program, implemented a supplier code of conduct and risk assessment process, analyzed company-wide safety and environmental performance, and conducted land and stakeholder consultation. Jenna also held a key role at Interpol, advising the organization on its strategic direction and was instrumental in developing its new organizational strategy.

Jenna holds an MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Social Performance Management from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Calgary.

With a background in engineering and finance, Rosa brings a unique perspective on social performance issues to BSR’s work with extractives companies.

She also supports companies across all sectors in developing labor, health, reporting, and sustainability strategies. In addition, Rosa oversees HERproject Factory programs in Indonesia and Myanmar, and supports HERproject global program coordination and expansion.

Prior to joining BSR, Rosa worked as a consultant for Cardno Emerging Markets, where she helped mining, oil, and gas companies develop social impact management plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and health, safety, and environmental policies in countries such as Burkina Faso and Timor-Leste. She also has provided program coordination for an AusAID program in Indonesia with more than 200 national and international advisers.

Rosa holds a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Finance from Drexel University.

Kia works with BSR member companies across industries in human rights.

Kia has studied and worked with human rights since 2012. Prior to joining BSR, Kia worked with the Institute for Human Rights and Business and the Danish Institute for Human Rights on business and human rights research and event planning across industries and companies. She has also worked in a variety of non-profit organizations, working with women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights and supporting cases going to the European Court of Human Rights.

Kia has a Master in Human Rights from UCL and a Bachelor in Human Rights from Malmö University. She speaks fluent Danish and English and is proficient in Swedish, Norwegian, and French.

Ariela works with BSR member companies across various industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Ariela was an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow with Sustainable Jersey, where she helped New Jersey municipalities implement energy efficiency projects. Previously, she worked as a consultant with Amnesty International, where she helped develop the organization’s platform on tear gas. Ariela was also a research assistant for the Mexican Ministry of Health, where she researched the impacts of changing climactic conditions on dengue. Ariela’s experiences focus on the intersection of climate change, human rights, and health.

Ariela holds an MPA from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy as well as a B.S. in Society and Environment and B.A. in Public Health from UC Berkeley. She is a native Spanish speaker and is proficient in French.

Francesca brings more than 10 years of experience in human rights, sustainability management, and responsible supply chains to her work with companies in the infrastructure, financial services, and consumer products sectors.

Prior to joining BSR, Francesca worked at a global Danish retailer, where she was responsible for human rights programs at the corporate and local level. Francesca has also previously worked with the Danish Institute for Human Rights as well as Vestas and Maersk, where she was part of their sustainability teams and helped to establish social compliance systems and managed broader sustainability initiatives such as materiality, reporting, and ethics. She has done field work in East Africa, India, Myanmar, China, and South Korea.

Francesca holds a M.S. in Business and Development Studies from Copenhagen Business School and a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from LUISS University Rome. She speaks Danish, English, and Italian.

Sean supports BSR member companies across various industries in respecting human rights across their organizations and value chains. Sean is especially interested in improving the social and environmental impacts of the jewelry industry.

Prior to working for BSR, Sean worked for the NGO Catholic Relief Services, where he wrote winning USAID proposals for conflict resolution and sustainable agriculture projects in West Africa. Sean has also worked with CRS and other NGOs across Latin America on school feeding and childhood nutrition projects, and he led Bountiful Children’s Foundation expansion through local partners into Bolivia and Colombia. Previously as a social worker, he advocated for parent-child rights in the US foster care system and served as a mentor to youth involved in the juvenile justice system.   

Sean holds a MPA from Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a BA in Social Work from Brigham Young University Hawaii.

Working with companies in the food and agriculture and oil industries, Roger advises on sustainability policies and programs in the areas of supply chain management, community development, stakeholder relations, reporting, and strategy.

He has worked with Tate & Lyle on code of conducts, Archer Daniels Midland on CSR strategy and supply chain management, and Threemile Canyon Farms on developing a sustainability vision and metrics.

Prior to joining BSR, Roger worked for the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, doing research and consulting on international and domestic labor issues for multinational corporations.

Roger holds an M.S. in International Affairs from George Washington University.

As a business and human rights attorney, Kindra brings over 10 years of experience advancing social and environmental sustainability and access to remedy to BSR’s financial services and human rights teams. Kindra advises financial institutions and their corporate clients on innovative solutions to prevent and address human rights risks and impacts on the ground, including through stakeholder engagement and the development of grievance mechanisms.  

Previously, Kindra consulted for the International Finance Corporation and worked with clients at PwC to integrate best practices into their corporate governance frameworks. She also worked for the US Senate and served for five years as the Policy Director for a global nonprofit, advocating with communities for environmental and social protections and access to remedy in international finance. In addition, Kindra has lived and worked for nonprofits in Argentina, Haiti, and Peru on access to justice and corporate accountability.    

Kindra obtained her law degree at Boston College and holds a MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Paloma leads BSR’s work at the intersection of finance and human rights. She advises financial institutions on embedding respect for human rights into corporate governance, across products and services, and at each stage of the investment lifecycle.

Prior to joining BSR, Paloma was Advisor to the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights and Senior Consultant of the UN B-Tech Project, where she developed an ambitious vision for promoting the uptake of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights among investors and led work on responsible investment in digital technologies. Prior to the UN, Paloma launched and served as Director of the Investor Alliance for Human Rights, where she developed thought leadership on the investor responsibility to respect human rights and supported corporate engagements across sectors. She also worked as Senior Advisor at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, where she advised governments, companies, and civil society on business and human rights.

Paloma is also on the Editorial Board of the Business and Human Rights Journal of Cambridge University, is a Design Team member of the Human Rights Measurement Initiative, and is an Advisory Board member of First Peoples Worldwide.

Paloma is Chilean-American and speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She holds a Master of International Affairs (M.I.A.) in Human Rights from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a B.A. in Political Science, also from Columbia University. 

Samone works with BSR member companies across industries in human rights and technology.

Prior to joining BSR, Samone conducted research for a variety of agencies. She engaged with the World Wide Web Foundation on internet accessibility during the COVID-19 pandemic and compiled best policies and practices. She contributed to a report for UN Women on intersectionality and participated in drafting recommendations for how the UN system can operationalize intersectionality throughout its programming. She also conducted research on sex work decriminalization for the Office of the NYC Public Advocate. Before her time as a researcher, she engaged in direct service work in the nonprofit sector, providing resources to populations like the LGBTQI+ community, asylum seekers, sex workers, and people seeking safe abortion.

Samone holds a MIA in Human Rights from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Alice advises companies across industries on human rights strategies, assessments and multi-stakeholder collaboration, with a particular focus on anti-trafficking. She manages the Global Business Coalition against Human Trafficking (GBCAT) and Building Responsibly collaborative initiatives.

Prior to joining BSR, Alice managed a campaign at the British Parliament on an initiative to strengthen the supply chain transparency requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. Previously, she had policy and research roles with a human rights focus at the Argentine Council for International Relations, the European Commission, and the Italian National Research Council. Alice is the co-author of Crime and Global Justice: The Dynamics of International Punishment, published by Polity in 2018. 

Alice holds an MA in International Relations: Latin America—Europe from the University of Bologna and an MA in History and Spanish from the University of Edinburgh. She speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Andrey works with BSR member companies across industries with a focus on the intersection of finance and human rights.

Andrey comes to BSR from the financial services industry, with four years of experience as a management consultant within UBS' internal consulting team. Andrey brings to BSR a deep knowledge of large-scale business transformation and corporate responsibility. During his time at UBS, Andrey worked on six "change-the-bank" initiatives and received direct exposure to topics ranging across international client onboarding, regulatory compliance, pricing strategy, and technology transformation. He also spent a rotation with UBS's corporate responsibility team to help drive the completion of the RobecoSAM questionnaire that ultimately delivered UBS's fourth consecutive award as a Dow Jones Sustainability Index leader. Most recently, Andrey spent Summer 2021 working on Rights CoLab’s Mapping Civil Society Initiative, where he helped identify and feature innovative human rights organizations. 

Andrey holds a MIA in Economic and Political Development from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a BA in Economics and Psychology from Skidmore College. He speaks English and Russian.

With more than 14 years of experience in the field of sustainability, Roberta supports companies in translating social and human rights expectations into management practices. In particular, she focuses on supporting companies in the energy and utilities sectors in navigating regulatory trends as well as investor and other stakeholder expectations when it comes to human rights management. She is passionate about renewable energy and leads BSR's work in renewable energy and human rights.

She has experience with human rights due diligence and impact assessments, code of practice and policy development, sustainability strategy and integration, sustainability reporting, and materiality assessments.

Prior to joining BSR, Roberta spent six years with Enel, a multinational electric utilities company, as a CSR specialist. She managed projects across various countries, particularly in Latin America, focusing primarily on integrating sustainability into business operations and developing the company's human rights approach. 

Roberta holds a MA in Economics and CSR and a BA in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Trento in Italy. An Italian native speaker, Roberta also speaks English, Spanish, and French fluently.

Mariana works with member companies across the energy and extractives and financial services industries to effectively assess human rights impacts, develop sustainability strategies, and integrate ESG opportunities.

Prior to joining BSR, Mariana worked as a Stakeholder Management Specialist at Antofagasta Minerals, where she developed sustainability strategies to advance human rights, communicated ESG performance to key stakeholders, and orchestrated public-private partnerships for social impact projects in local communities. While pursuing her Master’s degree, Mariana interned at the United Nations Foundation and worked on its Corporate Engagement team, and she consulted for Nordea Asset Management on responsible investment in extractive industries. She also worked as a Program Officer at Rights CoLab, an organization that fosters collaboration among experts across business, finance, civil society and technology fields.

Mariana holds an M.I.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a B.A. in International Affairs and Environmental Studies from Northeastern University. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Maria supports BSR member companies across various industries in respecting human rights across their organizations and value chains.

Prior to joining BSR, Maria worked for the NGO Pact, where she acted as a key point of contact between donor and field teams for the International Tin Supply Chain Initiative, the largest traceability and due diligence program for tin, tungsten, and tantalum (3T minerals) in the African Great Lakes Region. She also advised mining companies on incident resolution and risk mitigation in mineral supply chains, with a focus on the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s South Kivu province. Before that, Maria worked in Myanmar for Human Rights Now, where she researched human rights violations in the supply chains of Japanese companies.

Maria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied English and Japanese studies from the University of Paris and a joint Master’s Degree in Global Studies from the Universities of Vienna and Leipzig. She speaks French, German, English, and Japanese.

Kelly applies her international business and human rights experience to BSR’s consulting work across a number of industries.

Prior to joining BSR, Kelly focused on driving business respect and support for children’s rights across a number of sectors, including apparel and footwear and extractives, at UNICEF UK. She also spent six years at the Institute for Human Rights and Business, where she led the establishment of the Nairobi Process: A Pact for Responsible Business, a multistakeholder forum for governments, business, and civil society to embed human rights due diligence in the extractives sector in East Africa. Kelly has also contributed to research on rights-based approaches to business use and acquisition of land and water management.  

Kelly holds an M.A. in International Studies and Diplomacy and an LLM in International Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London and a B.Sc. in International Relations with a minor in Political Science from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.

Lale works with BSR member companies across industries in human rights and technology.

Prior to BSR, Lale worked with the Partnership on AI to help build its AI for Social Good strategy. Previously, she was a marketing manager at Microsoft, where she played a key role in establishing the company's cloud business across Turkey, the Middle East, and Africa. She led go-to-market strategy and execution for IT infrastructure services, cybersecurity products, and business applications.

Lale holds an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business where she focused on responsible business and social sector leadership. She received a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.

Aude leads BSR’s healthcare practice and works with member companies to advance human rights and promote sustainable and inclusive business practices.

Aude has more than 10 years of experience in sustainability and expertise in human rights due diligence—including human rights impact assessments at the corporate and field levels, human rights strategies, materiality assessments, sustainability strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

She also manages the Healthcare Working Group.

Prior to BSR, Aude worked for the French oil company Total, where she helped develop and expand the company's access to energy program in Africa and Southeast Asia. Before that, she worked as a sustainability consultant at Deloitte. She speaks French, English, and Spanish.

Aude holds an MBA from the ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Jenny leads BSR’s human rights team and portfolio across consulting and collaboration. In addition to directing BSR’s Human Rights Working Group, Jenny leads human rights assessments and partners with companies to develop human rights strategies and stakeholder engagement plans. She works across industries with a focus on energy, technology, and conflict-affected and high-risk contexts.

Prior to joining BSR, Jenny worked at Mercy Corps for over a decade in field management and advisory roles to prevent and mitigate conflict, promote inclusive economic development, and build civil society capacity. As the organization’s first Peace and Governance Director in Myanmar and later as the Director of the Peace and Conflict technical advisory team, she designed and implemented programs to reduce violence, promote peace and development, and address critical and emerging threats like climate change, disruptive technology, and poor governance. She has experience in context analysis, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, project design and implementation, and strategic planning. Jenny has lived and worked in countries including Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal, Israel/Occupied Palestinian Territories, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Central African Republic, and Cameroon. 

Jenny holds a MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
